Budapest (MTI) – Colleen Bradley Bell, the new US ambassador to Hungary, presented her credentials to President Janos Ader on Wednesday.

Following the ceremony in the president’s Sandor Palace office, Ader hosted a formal lunch to the new ambassador.

Bell arrived in Budapest to take up her post on Monday.

She posted a short welcome message on YouTube on Wednesday.

“I look forward to working together to pursue our common goals in regional security, stability in the Balkans, energy independence and the promotion of democracy in Europe’s east,” Bell said.

In her message, the ambassador called Hungary a strong ally of the United States.
