When the lady arrived at Budapest-Keleti 2018 the first time after years, she got so emotional that she had tears in her eyes. Carrying a Hungarian last name, but pure Austrian breed, with a soul that longs for history and culture, she was bewitched by the city in a very short time. Austrians have strong ties to Hungary, not only given by their past, but also impressed by the rebellious nature of the Hungarian people.
Also, the Hungarian language sounds familiar to Austrians, it has been spoken in the Eastern part of Austria, the Burgenland, for decades.
The lady chose the palatial Corinthia Budapest for her first stay — what an amazing palace — and started to explore the city.
Deeply impressed by the stunning historical buildings in Budapest, these impressive hotels in earlier palaces, the delicious Hungarian cuisine, she decided to add this place to her “life must-dos” for further visits.
Looking at her last visit during the Christmas holidays, she found herself at the prestigious Nobu restaurant, where international people click-click-clicked endless selfies over their signature meals. A glamorous crowd of jet-setters that also spends in an extravagant fur boutique at the Ritz-Carlton as well as in the hottest eateries.
Budapest has become a vibrant city, still a bit wild which makes it charming, a bit of a Stalinist touch which makes it imposing, in short, a special city with lots of potentials.
It attracts Jewish and Arab visitors at the same time: The lady could spot Emiratis, Saudis and Qataris even from a certain distance: No wonder, she has a strong connection to them: She has been working in the field of elite matchmaking in the Gulf States since 2001: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh, Jeddah, Manama, London — these are the locations, where the majority of her clientele is coming from. And what a pleasure to meet them in her preferred European city as well.
A toast to Budapest: Don’t miss its Széchenyi Chain Bridge on a romantic evening and a dinner at Spago, Matild Palace. Don’t miss Parisi Udvar for foie gras. And don’t miss the Hungarian State Opera House: The flamboyant Count Gyula Andrássy might be around to make an entrance!
