BREAKING: Wizz Air suspends Israel and Middle East routes immediately

Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air has immediately suspended several of its Middle East services after Israel attacked Iran, disrupting travel plans for thousands of passengers across Europe.

According to Hungarian news outlet 444.hu, the airline has halted all flights to Israel and key Gulf destinations due to the rapidly deteriorating security situation. The decision affects routes to Tel Aviv, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Amman.

Flights grounded until at least 7 March

The suspension is in force until at least 7 March, the airline said in a statement. Wizz Air added that it is continuously monitoring developments with the support of external security experts and remains in close contact with local and international aviation, security and government authorities.

The company stressed that passenger, crew and aircraft safety remains its top priority. Travellers affected by cancellations are being contacted directly by customer service with information about rebooking options or refunds.

Regional disruption spreads beyond Hungary

The impact is not limited to Hungary. Reporting by Cyprus Mail shows that multiple airlines have cancelled flights between Cyprus and the Middle East following the United States and Israel’s attack on Iran.
