On this week: 50th Flower Carnival in Debrecen

One of the biggest and the most popular cultural events of Hungary, the Flower Carnival celebrates its 50 anniversary this year. The one-week-long carnival offers a wide range of possibilities to spend&enjoy your time in Debrecen. Besides the national performers, cultural goups from all over the world creat a real Carnival-feeling during the whole week!

At the 20th of August – the most important day of the program, 5 m high Flower floats, national and international groups creat a huge corso, and walk through the city.

7:00 Piac street – Nagyerdei Stadium – Carnival Parade

Rózsa Street: 4000 HUF – open bleachers, seats on benches on “the first come first served” basis.
Approx. arrival of the Carnival march: 07:30 a.m.

Kossuth Square: 6000 HUF – roofed bleachers, pre-reserved seats on chairs
Approx. arrival of the Carnival march: 07:30 a.m.

Kölcsey Centre: 4000 HUF – open bleachers, seats on chairs on “the first come first served” basis.
Approx. arrival of the Carnival march: 08:00 a.m.

Egyetem Avenue: 4500 HUF – roofed bleachers, seats on benches on “the first come first served” basis.
Approx. arrival of the Carnival march: 08:45 a.m.

Children under 3 are free on the bleachers provided they sit in lap. Spectators are given a wristband at the access point to the bleachers in the morning to be worn all through the event. The presence of the wristband is regularly controlled by the organizers. Spectators missing the wristband are asked to leave the bleachers. Seats can be taken as early as 07:00 a.m. The performing groups present their programme in front of all the bleachers. The parade is free to watch from other spots in its route, however, please note that in such cases visibility is not guaranteed and also that the groups perform their shows exclusively in front of the bleachers.
