Toys
Most animals love toys, especially if they are filled with treats. There are a lot of cat and dog toys, as well as a lot of other toys for other animals, that allows you to hide their treats in them. This keeps your pet occupied while you are at work. The treat is not easy to get out so they have to work at it. This should keep them busy for a while.

Hours of Chew Time
If your pet is often found chewing items they are not supposed to when you are gone, this might help keep your furniture safe.
There is a device called the HOL-Ee Bottle. For this, all that is needed is an old water bottle. You simply slip it into the design that is made for your dog to chew on. This will give them the feeling of chewing a bottle but it keeps the mess minimal and prevents choking hazards. Plus, this helps reduce anxiety while you are away as well.
