Watch out – strike expected at Budapest Airport!

The Associated Aviation Trade Union (LESZ) responsible for representing on-land operators is gearing up for a strike, after weeks of fruitless negotiations with the management team of Malév Ground Handling. The goal Attila Csorba, the president of the trade union, has is a 15-per cent raise.
There might be delays at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport due to workers’ strikes – reports Portfolio. The president of the Associated Aviation Trade Union, Attila Csorba, revealed that this would be the first strike since 2011. Even though air traffic in Hungary has been experiencing significant growth in the past 3-4 years, employees’ salaries have not changed for a long time.

Csorba also pointed out that, back in 2013-2014, those working for Malév GH Ltd. got their salaries reduced by 25%, with the promise of raises and compensation in the future. However, nothing came of this, not even after the board members were replaced.
