VIDEO: Monument near Budapest’s illustrious Parliament vandalised

Two young people vandalised a popular monument commemorating the so-called Véres Csütörtök (Bloody Thursday) in Budapest’s iconic Kossuth Square. Below you may find a video about what they did.

According to index.hu, police officers of the Budapest headquarters caught two young Hungarians stealing bronze rifle bullets from the Bloody Thursday monument, located on the opposite side of the Hungarian Parliament.

They hammered down eleven bullets from the monument, which was under reconstruction. Security service employees reported the crime to the police, who caught the two 24-year-old perpetrators. Furthermore, the officers seized bronze bullets worth more than HUF 1 million (EUR 2,563).

The renovation would cost approximately HUF 10 million (EUR 25,641.25). Police took the perpetrators into custody for theft after their interrogation.
