Vettel secures pole position for Hungarian Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel, driving for Ferrari, set a new track record at the Hungaroring on his way to securing pole position for Sunday’s Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix.   

Finland’s Kimi Raikkonen will line up alongside his teammate, completing Ferrari’s front row lockout.

Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas will start third while Lewis Hamilton, who had hoped to take a record-equalling career 68th pole today, will have to settle for fourth place on the grid.

Di Resta replaces unwell Massa for Hungarian GP

Paul di Resta will replace Felipe Massa at Williams for the remainder of the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend after the Brazilian felt too dizzy to compete.

Massa had already felt unwell during Friday’s practice sessions. He was examined at the track’s medical centre and then underwent further checks at a Budapest hospital.

He took part in Saturday’s third practice session but pulled out of the Grand Prix after feeling unwell again.

The Hungarian GP will be di Resta’s first F1 outing since 2013 when he raced for Force India. The British driver returned to F1 last year in a test driver role for Williams.
