Get ready for major traffic restrictions around Budapest Airport next week!

Passengers travelling to or from Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport on 28 July should prepare for significant traffic restrictions in and around the airport.

Closures around Terminal 2 at Budapest Airport

The Airport Police Directorate has ordered extensive closures around Terminal 2 from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM on 28 July as part of security measures related to personal protection and facility safety, according to AIRportál.

Police reports indicate that during this timeframe, both stopping and pedestrian access will be prohibited on the road leading to the Liszt Ferenc Airport—from the intersection with Route 4 to the parking lot of the Ibis Styles Budapest Airport Hotel, past the entry to Cargo City, the roads leading to Gates “E” and “M,” and back to the Route 4 junction from Gate “E.”

According to Index, a 30-meter-wide area along the designated section will be fully closed, and restrictions will apply to the entire roadway in some areas. At Terminal 2A, the outbound level sidewalk and parking area—from the entrance barrier up to the main entrance—will be closed, and the observation terrace will not be accessible to travellers or visitors during the closure.
