Two young men were sentenced to prison for several years by The Debrecen District Court. At the end of August, two juvenile robbed a tobacco shop in Debrecen, Dózsa György Street. The 18-year-old O. Richard was sentenced to five years in prison for armed robbery, while his accomplice, R. József, who participated in the crime as his abettor, was sentenced to 3 years and six months.
According to dehir.hu, the two boys first met each other during their previous stay in a boarding school, where they formed a good friendship. Their paths parted for a while until O. Richard paid a visit to his friend in August to make their old dream come true and rob a post office or a tobacco shop,
just as they saw it in the movies.
At today’s trial, the two young men pleaded themselves guilty. According to their statement, they have watched together the film based on the life of the Whiskey Bandit, which motivated them to carry out their big plan and make their shared dream come true. They also added that they were sure of not failing because they had learned from the mistakes of their role model and would be better than Attila Ambrus once was.
The juveniles investigated the town two times to find a potential target for their plan. They also
planned to borrow an air rifle without a maintenance permit, from one of their acquaintances, to carry out the crime.
After finishing their investigation for the potential spots, on the evening of August 25, the two boys decided to put on disguises, planning to take it off while fleeing, as well as taking their air rifle with them hidden in a case, for deceiving their chasers. The robbers showed up around 2 am at the Hatvan Street tobacco shop, but to their misfortune, the shop was filled with people, so they had to move on. Around 6:30 they seemed to finally find their target, a tobacco shop at the edge of Dózsa György Street.

As part of their sentencing, The judge should have have been denied the privilege of smoking for steeling the cigarets . I am presuming they smoked.
