This is how Great Race VI blew up Budapest – The fiesta of air acrobats and roaring motors – PHOTO GALLERY

Today marked the sixth time that the Great Race, an annual aerial parade and car racing show was held in downtown Budapest. It has become the fiesta of technical sports and a tradition. So the 1st of May is not only about Labour Day festivities anymore – it goes hand in hand with the Great Race.
Can you imagine a better venue to celebrate Labour Day than the banks of the Danube? Maybe Erzsébet Square or Ferenciek Square? Well, they are certainly attractive places, especially when the weather is this good.
The programme already started on Monday with the exhibition of the racing cars, but the highlight was definitely the series of races held today.
The list of participants featured Max Verstappen, René Rast, Timo Glock and the only Hungarian F1 driver, Zsolt Baumgartner.
During the auto and motorsport show held in the Erzsébeth Square-Károly Boulevard-Astoria-Ferencies Square quadrat, Max Verstappen drove a 2015 F1 race car, René Rast rushed with an Audi, while Timo Glock represented BMW. Zsolt Baumgartner entertained the audience with a Formula Renault car.
