In the past couple of days, many unusual and unfortunate accidents took place in Hungary. The police and the ambulance services did not have a minute to rest. Amongst the many incidents, there were some especially noteworthy. Tragic, heroic, other times hilarious – let us show you the most memorable ones of the past week.

Food delivery guy ran over an old lady 

On 23 May, Monday a food delivery motorcycle caused an accident by running over a pedestrian, 24.hu reports. The victim was a 78-year-old elderly lady, who was walking on Andrássy Avenue when the 30-year-old delivery guy hit her at the intersection of Andrássy and Szív Street. Civils report that the ambulance arrived within five minutes to help the old lady and, thankfully, she only suffered minor injuries.

Cyclist saved by teens – a story of everyday heroes

Learning the accurate procedure of resuscitation is a life skill that everyone should adopt. Two teens in Kecskemét proved this when they successfully helped a 45-year-old man. The man was riding his bicycle in the centre of Kecskemét when he fainted in the middle of a busy road. Fortunately, the two main witnesses immediately alerted the ambulance services, and with the paramedics’ instructions, began helping the unconscious man. The two high schoolers executed chest compression on the man until the ambulance staff arrived. They managed to save him and by the time he got into the car, the man regained consciousness, 24.hu reports.
