The government communicating badly with the refugees in Hungarian

The poster-campaign recently launched by the government is clumsy, stupid, nowhere-leading response to a real problem. Moreover, it both lacks the rules of common sense and the basic human contact, Csaba Lukacs wrote on mandiner.hu.

The author compares it to the transcriptions of the Austrian shops in the 80s: “Hungarian, don’t steal!”. People were rightly appalled by the harsh generalization, even if some of our fellow citizens deserved the special attention.

The poster-campaign recently launched by the government is clumsy, stupid, nowhere-leading response to a real problem. Moreover, it both lacks the rules of common sense and the basic human contact. It addresses the people, who don’t speak Hungarian, in Hungarian. It would be better to make a multilingual brochure – by less money – on what kind of legal, ethical, behavioral expectations there are. Instead of it, they organized a hate-campaign against those who don’t want to stay here, so they wouldn’t even take the Hungarians’ jobs, if they could. The campaign doesn’t speak about that a person outside the EU can’t work without a work permit, which is virtually impossible for a refugee.
