Surprising: Orbán’s ‘yacht orgy mayor’ wants to run for office again

After his 2019 sex scandal, Zsolt Borkai resigned from politics and quit Fidesz. Is he ready now to come back as a candidate for the mayor of Győr?

In 2019, explicit photos and videos were leaked of the mayor of Győr, Zsolt Borkai. He was on a yacht cruise on the Adriatic Sea and as it seems, he was enjoying his holiday a bit too much… An anonymous blogger reported that the politician was doing drugs and hiring prostitutes on his cruise. Later on, Borkai admitted that these allegations were “partially true” and that he was deeply sorry for his actions. He confirmed that prostitutes were present, but he denied taking any illegal substances. Borkai said that he was only under the influence of alcohol.

Who was behind the leaked photos and videos?

Borkai also said that although he has no proof, he is strongly convinced that the Democratic Coalition’s (DK) Szombathely municipal representative, Csaba Czeglédy, was behind the leaked content on the Devil’s Advocate blog. He confessed that he knew that there would be prostitutes on the yacht, but he was not the one to hire them. Borkai also said that they had made a mistake by not taking all of the phones away before the party started. He saw that one of the ladies was making videos, but he was not suspicious at the time. The conclusion he took from the events was: not to take any women on board ever again.
