Primark conquers Eastern Europe – Hungary is next?

Change language:

Irish fashion retailer Primark is incredibly popular in all 12 countries where it is represented. As part of the company’s expansion in Eastern-Europe, Primark opens its first stores in Warsaw and Prague.

Primark

Primark is an Irish fast-fashion retailer owned by Associated British Foods. The company’s first store was founded in Dublin in 1969. The success in Ireland led to the expansion into the United Kingdom, which is still the company’s biggest market. One can find a diverse range of products in Primark stores, including baby and children’s clothing, womenswear, menswear, homeware, accessories, footwear, beauty products, and confectionery.

The main idea behind Primark is that it sells clothes way below the average price, following the fast-fashion trend (similar to H&M).

Primark currently trades from over 370 stores in 12 countries, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and the USA. It employs over 75,000 people.

Central and Eastern European Expansion

Primark already opened its first store in Eastern-Europe this June in Ljubljana, Slovenia. With this move, the company has created approximately 200 new jobs since June 2019. They are going to open two more stores in the region: one in Warsaw, Poland and one in Prague, the Czech Republic.
