PREVIEW – Parlt to hold 3-day session with land assets on agenda

Budapest (MTI) – A final vote may take place on a bill seeking to unify the management of public land assets during this week’s parliamentary affairs.

Two weeks ago lawmakers rejected the bill, which needs a two-thirds majority to pass, on transferring protected natural areas to the ownership of the National Land Fund Management (NFA), a proposal strongly rejected by the opposition. The farm ministry has accepted changes to the bill which dump cardinal provisions.

Lawmakers will also consider a proposal to require shops operating in world heritage sites to close on Sundays while allowing them to open half an hour earlier on weekdays.

A government-sponsored bill seeks to change several technical rules on bank settlements to address abuses experienced since the law was enforced.

Fidesz MP Szilard Nemeth will propose amending energy legislation. Accordingly Magyar Foldgazkereskedo would be required to offer its free resources from July 1, 2015 to September 30, 2018 to universal service providers. Further, a cut from 12 percent to 2 percent in production taxes would apply in the case of non-conventional extraction technologies.
