PHOTOS: March in honour of the heroes of the 1956 revolution

Between 21 and 23 October, the Gloria Victis 1956 Commemoration takes place in Budapest with the participation of more than 2,000 high school and university students, organised by the Rákóczi Association (Rákóczi Szövetség).
The three-day event
The main feature of the three-day event, which is part of the national celebrations, was the commemoration ceremony in the University of Art and Design’s lobby on Saturday 22 October at 3:00 PM. Gergely Gulyás, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, and Friderika Németh, a medical student from Bratislava, representing the university organisations, gave speeches.
The torchlight march started from the University of Technology at 4:00 PM along the historic route to Bem Square. There, a commemoration, wreath-laying ceremony and concert awaited the commemorators from 5:00 PM. Here, speeches were delivered by János Árpád Potápi, State Secretary for National Policy and Kristóf Fazekas, a university student from Budapest, Rákóczi Szövetség reported.

Wonder all these students from various parts of Hungary, different age groups and family backgrounds, born post 1956, may be an exception or two, being matured aged students, would they know of a FAMOUS international incident, that took place, in lands far away from Hungary, that involved a “violent” clash between Hungary & Russia?
1956 saw Melbourne, Australia hosts of the first ever Southern Hemisphere Olympic Summer Games.
The “international “incident occurred in the water polo stadium pool.
Hungary clashed violently with Russia, that saw ” blood drawn” pool side, by the aggressors, who later it was revealed was Russia.
1956 to 2022 and remember that History never Lies.
1945/6 through to 1989 – History never Lies.
Hungary & Russia lots happened in those DECADES and still Evolving as I write.
AMAZING, what through the Policies & Procedures of this present Government of Hungary, under the current Prime Minister – Victor Orban, its Dictatorial ideas & philosophies in the Governing of people/citizens, – it does AMAZE, the closeness in relationship, the dependency contractual arrangements, that we in Hungary, have been “sold off” by the Orban Government – BENEFITS – that have been and continue to be enjoyed by Russia.
Russia & China – the (2) two closest FRIENDS of Hungary – MINDBOGGLING but Fact.
