Péter Magyar’s top MP candidates revealed: opera singer, zoo director, Shell vice-president
The top five on the national list matter because they’re the only names voters see on the ballot. In Hungary, every citizen gets two votes: one for a candidate in their local constituency, the other for a national party list.
Elections hinge on individual constituencies
Hungary’s electoral system boils down to this: who forms the government is decided in the 106 individual constituencies, sending that many MPs to parliament. The remaining 93 seats go by national list votes. Every voter has two ballots—one to back a local hopeful, the other for a nationwide list.
That’s why Péter Magyar and Viktor Orbán are pounding the pavements in constituencies. They know the real battle is there. Win at least half, and you’re in pole position to form a government. National lists only yield seats for parties clearing 5 per cent of the vote.
Orbán’s star-studded slate
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has already unveiled Fidesz’s top five.
- The premier heads the list,
- followed by ally Zsolt Semjén, KDNP leader.
- Third is László Kövér, the House speaker, then two women to balance the gender tally.
- Kinga Gál is not just female but Fidesz deputy chair;
- Alexandra Szentkirályi brings youthful flair as ex-deputy Budapest mayor, current city Fidesz group leader—and wife of defence minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky.
Notably, none of these top five are contesting local seats.
He can “name” whomever he wants but let’s be honest here: His only M.P.s will be Soros, Ursula, and Zelensky. They will be calling all the shots.
Yes, Dear Michael, the limited sovereignty, the first such since WWII, that the extremely cagey diplomacy of Orbán Viktor has won for Hungary will be tossed into grab-bag of The Western Elite.
Magyar will be just as Maya Sandu, Nicușor Dan, and Volodymyr Zelensky – powerless faces operating for the benefit of The Western Elite in Hungary.
Once again, as the Hungarian historian, Borvendég Zsuzsanna, has so meticulously outline had happened to Hungary in the 20th century, Hungary will again be pillaged, but, this time it will be pillaged in such a way, with mass migration and the homosexualification of it’s populace, that it will never recover.
Just as it happened to my people, in the southern part if the disUnited States, so shall it happen to the Hungarians.
It would be sad, except for the fact that the more accurate pollsters reveal that Magyar is 5 points behind Orbán, and, what with practically already every Hungarian decided, it will not be a margin that Magyar can overcome.
Thus, Hungary will keep it’s limited sovereignty, not only to the dismay of The Western Elite, but, to those numerous Hungarians, of The Left, who want to finish off their own country, once and for all.
First of all, I think most Hungarians will be glad they don’t have to endure limited sovereignty with Russia. A country so dear to your heart that you’re even willing to give up your American roots for it. Whoever believes that is naive. You’re just a self-appointed Russian propagandist and one of the losers of the European transition, nothing more. You’re probably not being paid, because even the Russians demand a bit more quality.
If Orbán truly sought greater sovereignty, he would have left the EU long ago and wouldn’t have remained dependent on it, simply to further his own enrichment. He’s even willing to make deals with the devil for that. The truth is, he can satisfy this need better within the EU.
I must say, I’ve rarely read so much nonsense in one place. Are you perhaps suffering from hallucinations and nightmares and mistaking them for reality, or do you have occasional psychotic episodes? Probably not, because I think you’re deliberately spreading this nonsense.
The real question in this context is: why do you paint such a crazy, completely unrealistic, and incoherent horror scenario in the first half of your post, predicting the opposition’s election victory, only to state in the second half that Orbán will win anyway and the opposition doesn’t stand a chance?
The reason is simple: you just want to push your pathological narratives because you’re not actually convinced Orbán will win. You’re hoping to snag a few more confused voters for him.
You should be more subtle about this in the future, less obvious. Even half-wits can see through the true purpose of your delusional fantasies. So put in a little more effort, or you’ll never get that Order of Lenin!

It will be great that with Tisza we Hungarians will finally have decision makers that think and act for what is best for our nation and its ordinary people – improving healthcare, education etc., not just passing tax-payers money to their closed circle of oligarch friends and acting according Russian leaders wishes, from whom Fidesz takes orders from.
