Orban in Seoul: South Korean companies play important role in Hungary

Seoul, November 28 (MTI) – South Korean companies play an important role in Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Friday in Seoul, after talks with South Korean President Park Geun-hye.

He called tyre maker Hankook and electronics manufacturer Samsung “two major flagships” that “have earned great respect” in Hungary.

Speaking at a joint press conference, Orban said Hungary strove to continue pursuing successful cooperation with South Korea, adding that medium-sized companies should be next in line to make a presence in Hungary and highlighting innovation as an area of cooperation.

He announced that the Hungarian government would launch a scholarship scheme for 100 South Korean students to study in Hungary each year.

Orban said Hungary is proud to have been the first country in the former Soviet bloc to establish diplomatic relations with South Korea.
