Great news! A new amendment could facilitate an electronic checking process for driver’s license

Change language:
According to an amendment submitted to the parliament, drivers will not have to carry their registration certificate and driver’s license because the police will check it in the Road Traffic Register system during an inspection. The bill is entitled “Amendments to Certain Acts Enhancing the Security of Citizens”, it is submitted by the government (Minister of Interior), and it aims to renew numerous law enforcement regulations.
As far as the registration certificate is concerned, the relevant passage of Act I of 1988 on Road Transport would be supplemented with the following line:
“the driver is not obliged to carry the official permission of the vehicle issued by the Hungarian authority in domestic traffic.”
This would apply to cars, motorcycles (including four-wheel motorcycles), agricultural tractors, four-wheel mopeds, trailers and slow-moving vehicles, Index wrote.
Regarding the driver’s license, the current decree states that “a person may drive a vehicle on the road if his or her condition enables safe driving and has the required license to drive the vehicle”. This would change to having a “valid license registered in the Road Traffic Register system”.
