MEP Gyöngyösi: European Public Prosecutor’ Office of the Integrity Authority!

Hungarian MEP Márton Gyöngyösi (Non-Attached Member of the European Parliament) posted a press release about the Integrity Authority.

“Today, the Integrity Authority has been shown to be a salty office.

Surreal scenes took place when I wanted to make a public interest report about Viktor Orbán’s attempt to get hold of the Spar property for a relative.

As we know, the Austrian head of the company himself has said that the Prime Minister personally persuaded him to do so after the chain reorganised its operations and moved part of its Hungarian assets to Switzerland, presumably in fear of expropriation, following the example of Auchan.

I was unable to lodge my report today, because this authority is so transparent that it is located on the sixth floor of a private hospital building, where, as an independent MEP and member of the ECPM, I was simply not allowed to enter – on the grounds that I had to register in advance.
