It’s forbidden to take the Szekler flag to the Eurovision song contest

Alfahir.hu reported that it’s forbidden to take any regional flags to the Eurovision song contest, while bringing in the EU flag and the rainbow coloured flag (symbolizing gay rights) is still allowed.

According to Eurovision’s statement, the organizers would like to prevent any kind of political display, unpermitted advertisements, and abusive statements.

Waving the flags and symbols of ENSZ countries is permitted, but local, regional, and provincial flags are banned. This means that the flag of any country that was detached from Hungary is not allowed in, but sadly, there are several countries which are still fighting for their own sovereignty.

However, waving the EU flag or the rainbow flag is still permitted, as long as they “do not make any kind of political statement during the show.” The organizers did not specify what is considered to be a political statement.
