On Tuesday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommended that vaccination with the Janssen vaccine be suspended. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is being banned due to six cases of blood clots, SkyNews wrote. The FDA said that they were unaware that there was an association between thrombosis and the vaccines. For the time being, these cases appear to be rare, but until they are evaluated, a suspension of the Janssen vaccine is recommended.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has begun investigating very rare cases of blood clots following vaccinations developed by Johnson and Johnson’s pharmaceutical company Janssen against a new type of coronavirus, the EU medicines agency said on Friday. In response, the FDA said at the time that they were unaware that there was an association between thrombosis formation and vaccination with Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Meanwhile, the first shipment of Janssen has arrived in Hungary today, which was also confirmed by the national chief physician Cecília Müller in Tuesday’s briefing of the operative staff. István György, the head of the National Vaccination Working Group, said:
“28,800 doses of the single-dose Janssen vaccine have been received and will be used on vaccination buses. For the time being, soldiers are being vaccinated, but they will return to the small settlements by next week. The single-dose vaccine will be used for the first time in Tolna County. ”
