Israeli man stabs another Israeli at Hungarian festival

A life-threatening stabbing occurred Saturday at the Ozora Festival when a 28-year-old Israeli man stabbed a 26-year-old fellow Israeli multiple times following a verbal altercation. The attack took place on the grounds of the event held in Igar-Vámszőlőhegy, the Fejér County Police Department confirmed.

Victim airlifted to hospital

The police received the report of the stabbing on the afternoon of 2 August. The victim was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition by the National Ambulance Service. According to the festival’s main organiser, Árpád Zimányi, the man’s condition has since stabilised, though the motive for the attack remains unclear.

Initial reports state that a verbal dispute broke out between the two Israeli citizens prior to the attack. The suspected assailant, who was also injured, was detained by festival security until police arrived. Officers arrested him at the scene and took him to the hospital, where he was placed in custody.

Investigation underway, arrest requested

The Fejér County Police Department has launched an investigation into felony assault causing life-threatening injuries. The suspect is currently being interrogated, and investigators have requested his pre-trial detention, according to Telex.
