Hungary’s first-division soccer championship NB 1 to resume on May 30

Change language:
Hungary men’s NB I will resume its season on 30th May, a week after the Hungarian Cup also recommences, all matches being subject to strict conditions to safeguard the health of all concerned. In women’s football, the remaining few matches which affect the outcome of qualification for next season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League will be played. Contact between large numbers of people remains a serious threat to public health, which is why the futsal and amateur and junior football league seasons are ending now.
In line with the Executive Committee’s decision on Monday,
the OTP Bank League will continue on 30th May with the 26th round of fixtures and the men’s Hungarian Cup at the semi-final stage,
the first legs being staged on 23rd May, four days before the second legs on 27th May. Ferencváros’ two postponed league fixtures will be played at the same time as the two legs of the Hungarian Cup semi-finals.
Various Simple Women’s League fixtures which will influence Women’s Champions League qualification are also due to be played, specifically the postponed MTK Hungária FC–DVTK fixture and the best-of-3 championship final series, but there will be no league winner declared nor any official final placings or relegation.
