Hungary to build mobile tactical shelters for Israel

Change language:

A Hungarian construction company is building mobile tactical shelters that will be used for protection against rocket strikes in Israel, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said after talks with his Israeli counterpart Gabi Ashkenazi in Israel on Tuesday.

Under the deal signed between the Hungarian company and an Israeli defence industry firm, Hungary will build over 1,000 such shelters which will be used to shield thousands of Israelis, Szijjarto told a press conference in Petah Tikva.
“Hungary assigns strategic importance to its cooperation with Israel,
which we also demonstrate through our actions as opposed to just paying lip service to the idea,” the minister said.

“We turn our words into actions, and we are also capable of contributing to the protection of thousands or tens of thousands of Israelis against rocket strikes,” he said.

“Israel has been attacked by a terrorist organisation,
which fired thousands of rockets on Israeli cities and densely populated areas, endangering thousands, tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of lives,” Szijjarto said, in reference to the recent escalation of violence in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza.
“We regret that international political organisations have not taken a joint stance on the situation
and that they have disputed the fact that Israel has been attacked by a terrorist organisation,” Szijjarto said. “We regret that certain international organisations wanted to treat Israel and Hamas as equals, as if Hamas were an NGO, and we also regret that international organisations don’t make it clear that Israel has a right to defend itself.”

  1. Splendid! Israel is a poor country that has billions USD poured into it every year, not to mention the money Mr Orbán’s friends (Soros included) give the country. How nice of a szuper gazdag country like Hungary to give a bit of financial aid to Israel.. The double standards are astonishing.

  2. Maybe if Israel actually tried to live peacefully with its neighbours for a change and stop stealing homes and land from the TRUE owners of the land the Palestinians. Israelis could have peace but since the Balfour Declaration that gave land that was not rightfully the British to give to the Israeli settlers there has been no peace. The mayhem in the middle east will never end because Israel doesn’t want it to end. I don’t for one moment blame the Palestinians for fighting for what was rightfully theirs and was stolen from them.
The Israelis wouldn’t need all these armaments and war materials if they wanted peace they would have peace.

  3. Factual – History lesson by Anonymous.
It NEVER lies History – and as Anonymous explains – Israel “invaded” stole wrongfully and illegally – the lands of the Palestinians.
The word peace will NEVER be witnessed.
Prime Minister – Netanyahu is under “siege” at this tumultuous time – in the History of Israel – and WILL be replaced, in the immediate Future.
Will this bring about a process of reconciliation ?
NO – the wounds and history are Deep and beyond a “middle ground” of reconciliation.
Reconciliation – the process of moving forward centers on the rightful return of ALL lands – that were taken off – Wrongfully – from the Palestine’s – by the Israel’s- and this will never be Forgiven nor Forgotten nor Compromised.

  4. Caritas – the history was that the British were bullied into partitioning Palestine through the UN because the US said no partition, no funds from the Marshall Aid Plan. Britain knew that it was a bad idea to divide the country known as Palestine and made that point of view very clear.

Hey, no is it written that Hungary was paying for anything and if you read or know anything, SOROS is an enemy of the state of Isreal and Hungary. The rest of you, please read up on your history and not western B.S. Isreal is not stealing anyones land but its own back. If the last 1100 years doesnt matter for Hungary’s case then it shouldnt for Isreal’s case either!! Go find a hobby that doesnt include intelligence!!
