Breaking: Hungary raises terror threat level after Iran war escalation

Hungary has raised its national terror threat alert by one level following the outbreak of war in Iran, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced on Saturday evening.

In a brief statement posted on social media, the prime minister wrote: “War in Iran! In Hungary, we have raised the terror threat preparedness level by one degree.” No immediate details were provided about the specific measures involved, but the government said further information would follow.

Defence Council reviews risks

Earlier in the day, the government’s Defence Council convened to assess the rapidly evolving security situation and determine the “exact level of danger” posed to Hungary.

Officials have not disclosed what additional steps may accompany the higher alert status, though such measures typically include increased surveillance, tighter security around strategic sites and closer monitoring of potential risks.

Orbán linked the decision directly to the conflict in Iran, describing the situation as unpredictable and potentially dangerous for Europe as a whole.

Energy security in focus

Beyond security concerns, the prime minister highlighted the economic implications of the conflict, especially rising global energy prices. He warned that Iran, as one of the world’s major oil producers, plays a key role in global supply, meaning the war could trigger significant price increases.

  1. US military strikes in Iran have zero to do with Hungary. If something happened in Mongolia he would raise the “terror threat level” to keep hysteria going in the country while he proclaims that only he can protect the Hungarian sheep.

  2. Next he will claim that the EU and Germany are a terrorist threat to Hungary and as a result he will close all German automobile factories and all Austrian border crossings.
Next he will probably claim that the EU and Germany are a terrorist threat to Hungary and as a result he will close all German automobile factories and all Austrian border crossings.

Note to Mr. Johnny Johnsen: This is satire, not self-contradictory nonsense that makes no sense overall. And another note: If something is satirical, that of course says nothing about the quality, as you can see above. Satire is not inherently good, as you may mistakenly think.

Maybe, Dear Peter, maybe, BUT … knowing Orban’s style, I think more likely would be that he declares those German Automobile Manufacturers, remaining in Germany, a terrorist threat, until they imitate other German companies and relocate to Hungary.

  3. What Orbán is trying to do is to say here I am, look at me.

Such a pathetic piece of nonesense 😂
