Shocking: Austrian woman & Neo-Nazi partner arrested after child rescue in Hungary!

Change language:
An international collaboration has successfully rescued a 12-year-old Austrian girl who was held captive and abused by her own mother in Hungary. The girl was kept in extreme conditions, as a fence showcasing Nazi symbols, a copy of Mein Kampf, and a gun were found in her home. The operation also involved the Counter Terrorism Centre (TEK) and the National Investigation Bureau of the Standby Police (KR NNI).
According to Police.hu, the case was brought to the attention of the Hungarian police by the Austrian authorities after one of the mother’s older children escaped and reported serious physical and psychological abuse.

The police operation and the rescue
The TEK and the KR NNI carried out a carefully planned operation on 25th March. The authorities took special care to ensure that the child remained unharmed and to avoid a possible hostage situation. The operation was carried out without resistance, and the police found the 12-year-old girl safe and sound. The woman had been holding her child captive in undignified conditions. The authorities immediately arranged for the girl’s safety and accommodation.

An extreme background
The international investigation revealed that the Austrian woman had been living with a German man with Neo-Nazi views in a small village in TĂ¼rje, Hungary. The information suggested that the man with with Nazi-aligned beliefs was also armed, which significantly increased the risk of the operation. The authorities, therefore, had to consider not only the safety of the child but also the need to avoid a possible armed conflict.
