Hungary COVID-19 fatalities have risen to 29,213

Fully 38 patients, generally elderly with co-morbidities, died over the past 24 hours, while 426 new infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday.

So far 4,639,299 people have received a first jab, while 2,727,165 have been fully vaccinated.

The number of active infections has declined to 138,384, while hospitals are treating 2,259 Covid patients, 258 of whom need respiratory assistance.

There are 16,297 people in official quarantine,

while 5,649,027 tests have been officially carried out.

Since the first outbreak, 798,573 infections have been registered,

while fatalities have risen to 29,213.

Fully 630,976 people have made a recovery.

So far, most infections have been registered in Budapest and Pest County, followed by the counties of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Győr-Moson-Sopron and Hajdú-Bihar.

  1. The title of this article is disingenuous – it is proof of the old adage that news outlets prefer highlighting bad news instead of good news. The total death count is going to go up from Covid every day so why publish today’s total, when today’s data is the best combination of declining daily death rates and declining numbers of new infections, since the third wave hit? It almost seems like you were disappointed that the epidemic is declining.

  2. I agree with the above comment. It looks as though things are getting very much better, and that the vaccinations are paying off. Let’s be glad about that.
