Hungarians earn more money – merits or guilts of Fidesz?

The Hungarian elections won by Fidesz reveals that there is a majority of voters who voted for them because they feel that the economy is functioning good, moreover, they also think that their individual financial status is improving. How can it be interpreted? Are the government measures that could be thanked for today’s relative economic growth?

According to index.hu, a Hungarian employee earns more, lives better than 8 years ago. Measures undertaken by Fidesz resulted in wage growth above the inflation, lower taxes, and better foreign-currency loans. Due to these, people tend to feel that they possess more money. Where does this approach originate from?

Firstly, we should note that there is a considerable workforce shortage due to which hundreds of thousand are undertaking jobs abroad in the hope for a better living. It is the impact of this tendency that domestic employees can sell their labour force at a higher price, for a better salary.

However these all depend on governance actions, so they should be interpreted as negative processes when speaking about the achievements of Fidesz.

Secondly, we should consider that there is a high international demand regarding orders from Hungarian companies that can be interpreted as a government success. Taking a closer look, we should also note that this phenomenon originates from international economic prosperity these days, and the using of the resources coming from the European Union. Moreover, these EU supports offer loads of jobs, particularly in the construction sector.
