Missing ambulance driver dooms Hungarian professor in Sri Lanka

A 67-year-old Hungarian professor has been trampled to death by a wild elephant in Sri Lanka, with his wife forced to watch powerless as the beast attacked.
The Hungarian professor had no chance to survive in Sri Lanka attack
The tragedy unfolded near Dambulla in the island’s central province on 15 February, when the academic and his wife were strolling a jungle-fringed path in the Pidurangala-Sigiriya area, according to reports from local authorities and the Sri Lanka Mirror. The couple had just visited the stunning natural wonders of Sigiriya and Pidurangala rock formations and were heading back to their hotel when the massive animal charged from the trees.
The professor, whose age was initially reported as 64 by some outlets, stood no chance against the onslaught. His wife could only look on in horror as he was mauled. Holidaymakers on the paradisiacal island had no inkling that help would arrive so tardily after such an assault.

Ok, I tend to criticize the West a lot. And they deserve it.
But they at least understand the concept of an ambulance. Unlike some other people.
Mark ! Sri Lanka is a poor third world country, and they have many issues. Believe me, the ambulance in the jungle is not one of them. They definitely could not be compared to any western developed countries, and furthermore, the fact that foreign visitors think, they can just stroll around wild territory is just stupid!!!
