According to Index.hu, Irish police has detained a young woman who was suspected of operating brothels in Ireland, Independent.ie says.
The newspaper says that the woman, who is in her early thirties, was caught in Budapest and would be taken back to the island country in the next few weeks. She was the major target of the Operation Quest code-named action against prostitution, which was launched after several years’ investigation. The policemen struck on 140 locations since May 2012.
Responding to the question of Index.hu, Viktoria Csiszer-Kovacs confirmed the news. A European arrest warrant was issued by the Irish authorities against the 32 year-old woman last June. She was searched for crimes committed in 2011 and 2012. Patrols of the BRFK (Budapest Police Headquarters) caught her in collaboration with the ORFK International Criminal Cooperation Center, said the spokeswoman.
