Hungarian government signs strategic partnership with ThyssenKrupp

Budapest, November 25 (MTI) – Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó signed a strategic partnership agreement with steering systems supplier ThyssenKrupp Presta Hungary on behalf of the government in Budapest on Friday.
With ThyssenKrupp’s long-term commitment to Hungary, the country can cement itself as a leader in auto industry innovation, Szijjártó said after signing the agreement.
Szijjártó said ThyssenKrupp is the world’s number one company in the development of steering systems. The German-based conglomerate operates 497 subsidiaries in 77 countries and is also a leader in auto industry digitalisation, the minister added.
Szijjártó noted that the strategic partnership deal with ThyssenKrupp was the 72nd one the government had signed.
ThyssenKrupp Presta Hungary CEO Marc de Bastos Eckstein said the conglomerate operates six subsidiaries in Hungary. The company employs 1,000 people and generated 500 million euros in revenue last year, he said.
Responding to a question, Szijjártó also commented on Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s phone conversation with US President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday.
