Hungarian building wins prestigious international architecture award

Hungarian architecture is booming right now. Many new, innovative designs are presented, and many historical or simply just wonderful buildings are renovated. Now, Hungary can pride itself on winning yet another award after a building was reconstructed.
The International Federation for the Roofing Trade’s (IFD) World Championship in Germany awarded the roof structure of Lovarda (Royal Riding School), a wonderful architectural sight in the Budavár Palace District. The roof was redesigned and built using red and green English slate. These materials resemble the original look of the old building.

In Marburg, 80 entries from 11 countries were evaluated. Lovarda, the Hungarian winner, was redesigned as part of the National Hauszmann Program, writes Index. This is a huge recognition because IFD is quite a prestigious organisation.
IFD consists of 15,000 companies from 22 countries.
Competitions have been organised since 1998. Hungary regularly nominates works for the award. Besides European countries, this year, the United States and China participated in the IFD Awards as well. The Hungarian win is an important event as the country has not won the award in many years.
Magnificent – watching its “Re-birth” – rebuilding /reconstruction – then to see the completed former Royal Riding School – will joy and delight the millions of tourist – Hungarians – over time that visit Buda Castle.
Deserving of this award and Congratulations to all associated with another completed project – that is bringing back returning to Hungary – places that are of a Historical and National significance and importance.
I agree-watching the reconstruction of the whole area was wonderful – never thought I would live to see anything like it with much more to come.
