Hungarian armed forces buy new helicopters

Change language:
The defence ministry on Friday said it signed a contract on the purchase of 20 H145M medium-sized military multirole helicopters from Airbus.
The helicopters will replace the ageing Mi-8 and Mi-17 transport helicopters which will soon reach the end of their life cycle, it said.
The H145M provides the Hungarian Armed Forces with all of the necessary tactical and technical solutions. Airbus is also providing an extended outfitting, training and support package, the ministry said.
The ministry recently procured some Zlin small aircraft and a multifunctional Airbus A319 air transport aircraft, and it will soon acquire smaller scout planes and larger aircraft suitable for freight transport and other airborne tasks.
