Healthcare companies support professionals’ conference participation with more than HUF 2bn

Budapest, January 30 (MTI) – Drugmakers and other healthcare companies paid more than 2 billion forins (EUR 6.6m) to cover the cost of Hungarian professionals’ participation at conferences and other events last year, business daily Vilaggazdasag said today.

The paper noted that healthcare industry companies have been required to declare the amount they spend on the costs incurred by professionals at such events since the second half of 2012. The companies are only allowed to pay costs connected to the events, such as transport, accommodation and participation fees.

At present, Hungary is the only country in Europe with such a rule.
