Former President of Mauritius joins Hungarian-based EnerSynk Kft

EnerSynk Kft, the Hungarian operating entity of the international EnerSynk Group, has appointed Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, former President of the Republic of Mauritius, as Emeritus Chairperson.

Hungary serves as the Group’s European strategic base. EnerSynk Kft is led by its directors: Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Executive Director of Wockhardt Group (a publicly listed pharmaceutical and biotechnology company with revenues exceeding USD 2.5 billion), and Jason Temasfieldt, Founder of EnerSynk Group, who has lived in Hungary for the past ten years and considers it home. Temasfieldt is globally recognized as a Peace Ambassador, entrepreneur, activist and business coach. Over the past decade in Hungary, he has focused on renewable energy expansion, cross-border project structuring and climate-aligned infrastructure initiatives, with a long-term vision of positioning Hungary as a credible European platform connecting international capital with emerging energy markets.

The appointment represents a significant milestone for the Hungarian-registered renewable energy and climate infrastructure company, strengthening its governance framework and international credibility as it expands across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Dr. Gurib-Fakim, a scientist by background and former Head of State, emphasized the importance of science-based governance and measurable environmental performance.

“Climate solutions must be grounded in science, transparency and accountability,” said Dr. Gurib-Fakim. “EnerSynk’s integrated approach to renewable energy and deployable carbon infrastructure reflects the type of scalable innovation required to address global environmental challenges responsibly. EnerSynk develops utility-scale solar projects, hybrid renewable systems and deployable atmospheric carbon infrastructure solutions across multiple jurisdictions.

A central component of its climate strategy is FORESTA — a modular, microalgae-based atmospheric carbon infrastructure system housed within a standard 20-foot container. Designed for urban and industrial environments, each FORESTA unit captures carbon dioxide while reducing nitrogen oxides (NOx), volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and fine particulate matter, releasing oxygen through controlled photosynthesis.

Each unit occupies approximately 14 square metres and is engineered to capture an estimated 8–14 metric tons of CO₂ annually while producing approximately 4–8 metric tons of oxygen per year. In environmental performance terms, one FORESTA unit is equivalent to the annual carbon absorption capacity of approximately 700 mature trees, without requiring soil or large land areas. The system operates continuously and is suitable for deployment in cities, industrial corridors and transport hubs.

By integrating renewable energy generation with measurable carbon capture and oxygen production, EnerSynk is positioning carbon infrastructure as scalable environmental technology rather than traditional offset initiatives.
