Explosion and fire erupt at popular Hungarian festival on opening day

Chaos unfolded on the opening day of the 2025 Ozora Festival in Dádpuszta, Hungary, as a fire broke out at one of the food stalls, leading to multiple explosions and property damage. The blaze, which began around early afternoon on 25 July, quickly spread to nearby shops, vehicles, trailers, and tents, damaging over 250 square meters of festival grounds.

According to eyewitness reports, the fire started at an Asian food kiosk located near the main stage, HVG writes. Visitors said it likely began when a gas cylinder overheated and caught fire, which then ignited cooking oil. Attempts to extinguish the flames using fire extinguishers only escalated the situation, leading to a rapid spread of the fire and several loud explosions as propane-butane gas cylinders exploded one after another.

The flames engulfed the kiosk entirely and spread to three vehicles, two trailers, and numerous tents. Some eyewitnesses claimed they saw a gas pipe burst during the incident.

According to Teol.hu, emergency response teams, including professional firefighters from Sárbogárd and Paks as well as volunteers from Simontornya, arrived quickly and managed to bring the fire under control using multiple water jets and hand tools.
