Ekol Logistics moves to the new Cargo City at Budapest Airport

Budapest Airport Zrt. and Ekol Logistics Kft. have signed a lease agreement, whereby the air cargo unit of Ekol will move to the new Cargo City, scheduled for opening at the end of 2019. Late this summer, Budapest Airport will commence the construction of the new Cargo City project which will accommodate a building with warehouses and office space for air cargo handling purposes and a second warehouse building for forwarder companies.
Cargo City will have an area of approximately 20 000 square meters of warehouse and office space, with tenants, including Ekol Logistics, scheduled to move in by the end of 2019.
The new cargo hub will be characterized by a fully centralized, “everything under one roof” export and import concept, i.e. the representatives of the cargo airlines (the so-called GSAs, general sales agents) and Customs will work in the same location, enabling the faster handling of special (e.g. pharmaceutical products requiring cooling) and other cargo.
