Index reports that, besides the prestigious library, the Széchenyi, Lukács, and Paskál thermal baths all received alerts about explosives on their premises this Wednesday. These facilities were safely cleared of civilians.
After a thorough search by the police, they failed to find any explosives in and around the above-mentioned establishments.
Telex got in touch with the Hungarian National Police Headquarters (ORFK). They said that the National Bureau of Investigation’s Standby Department is leading an investigation on the anonymous perpetrators behind the threats. “Due to threatening messages, both the Paskál Thermal Bath and the Metropolitan Library were searched by the bomb squad. No explosive devices were found in either case,” the Budapest Police Headquarters told Telex.
