Young man killed in Budapest nightclub: more chilling details, perpetrator’s version

The 25-year-old victim was initially the subject of a joke played by the perpetrator in a Budapest nightclub. However, matters swiftly escalated when the perpetrator lost his temper and resorted to violence. It later emerged that he delivered two powerful punches which sent the victim crashing onto the hard pavement.
Tragically, the ambulance crew were unable to save him. The accused is now in pre-trial detention and faces a harsher sentence following changes to the charges. The victim’s mother has posted repeatedly online, demanding the death penalty.
The perpetrator was joking with the victim in the Budapest nightclub
As previously reported, on Saturday night, tragic events unfolded outside the popular Morrison’s 2 nightclub. Two young men became embroiled in an argument, and 28-year-old László A. struck the 25-year-old victim with such force that he collapsed without managing to break his fall, sustaining severe injuries and ultimately dying in hospital. Police, assisted by security staff, detained the suspect within minutes.

Two blows proved fatal
Further investigation has revealed that it was not one but two blows that the perpetrator, a stonemason by trade, delivered to the previously unknown victim. According to the suspect, he intended merely to joke with the young man, but when the victim moved towards him, he claims he struck what he described as “pre-emptive” blows.

As I wrote before, a hit in the head, other than in self-defense, should be prosecuted as attempted murder or as murder, period.
How terribly sad for family and friends of both men. Not sure how hitting someone hard in the head was going to play out as a joke… but regardless there was no intent to murder, it was an unfortunate act of violence that ended very badly. Assuming that booze was involved, and perhaps other bad choices like illicit drugs…that we all know lead to various bad choices ontop of those bad choices.
