Change language:
The 11th Jazz Showcase, presenting stars of jazz music and new talents from central Europe, will be held in the Budapest Palace of Arts (Müpa) between February 1 and 3.
The afternoon concerts will feature young talents, whose performance will be rated by a jury and the audience, Müpa said in a statement. The prizes involve further concerts at Müpa, a record contract or touring opportunities. Performers will include the Best Bad Trip group, LightBulb, and seventeen-year-old pianist Balázs Horváth. Singers Panni Kalmar, the Vintage Dolls and Ágnes Szász are taking the stage on February 2. The Coquette Jazz Band, the Choose Cheese and the Antal Gábor Trió are scheduled to play on Saturday.
Concerts in the evenings will feature well-known groups such as Kristof Bacso and his band featuring guitarist Gilad Hekselmann, the Talas Aron Trio and Mike Moreno, as well as Gyula Babos, Elemér Balázs, Béla Szakcsi Lakatos and Tony Lakatos.
