Based on a recently published statement of the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK), the Budapest airport shuttle 100E will become cheaper for pass-holders, and a new downtown station will be included in its route because of the possibly increasing number of passengers.
Budapest airport shuttle will be much cheaper
According to Telex, Budapest pass-holders could travel with the 100E Budapest Airport shuttle for a much lower price than its current cost. The original proposal came from Dávid Vitézy, a former mayoral candidate backed by Fidesz and the current leader of the Podmaniczky group in the Budapest Municipal Council. BKK now wrote that their plan was to introduce a discounted HUF 900 (EUR 2.24) ticket for Budapest pass-holders. That would mean a significant price reduction since now you have to pay HUF 2,200 (EUR 5.5) regardless of whether you have a Budapest pass or not.

BKK believes that the increasing passenger traffic at the airport and the growing passenger number after the introduction of the new discounted ticket will generate a +35% utilisation of the 100E buses. Therefore, the Deák Square-Budapest Airport route will require an extension. The line’s new station will be the Nyugati railway station, BKK said.
