Change language:
Fully 194 generally elderly patients with co-morbidities died over the past 24 hours, while 10,625 new infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Sunday.
Altogether 1,563,242 people have been vaccinated in Hungary, 474,891 of whom have received a second shot, the portal said.
The number of active infections has risen to 183,336, while hospitals are caring for 10,652 Covid patients, 1273 of whom need respiratory assistance.
More than 50 thousand people are in official home quarantine, and the number of tests carried out is more than 4.2 million.
Ever since the first outbreak, 571,596 infections have been registered, while fatalities have risen to 18,262. Fully 369,998 people have made a recovery.
So far, most infections have been registered in Budapest (108,918) and Pest County (79,015), followed by the counties of Győr-Moson-Sopron (33,008), Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén (32,012) and Hajdú-Bihar (30,732). Tolna County has the fewest infections (12,386).

If we calculate the number of infections per number of population in the different counties, the results are different. In that case, Budapest is in the middle of the list while Nógrád, Győr-Moson-Sopron, Komárom-Esztergom, and Somogy counties are leading it.

Totally disagree with this article.
It lacks factual representation of the present and future ramifications Hungary faces in it’s fight against this novel coronavirus.
On a World stage Hungary – the new case numbers continue in a strong upward trend but of greater Medical Statistical Importance – the ratio of deaths -proportioned against a population of 9.6 million – nears 1 death of a Hungarian in every 500 citizens.
