Brace yourselves, Black Friday is coming – or is it already here? When do Black Friday offers take place in Hungary? Why is there more than one date? And what should you pay attention to when shopping? Let’s get to the bottom of these questions.

When we hear Black Friday, we think of huge sales, jam-packed malls, and pulling all-nighters spent with placing the orders on goods you have been waiting to get your hands on for so long. The end of November is also the perfect time to get the Christmas presents for the family so that you can avoid the rush in December.

Black Friday does not have such a big tradition in Hungary as in the US (where they also offer even bigger and crazier discounts), which you may tell from how chaotic the whole situation is. You might be confused when you stroll around Budapest or Hungarian websites and you see different dates from store to store on Black Friday offers. Let us help you clear this up a little bit.

Instead of having the exact date of Black Friday – which is the Friday following Thanksgiving, so this year it is 27 November – with huge discounts, Hungarian stores for some reason have been having smaller but still decent discounts on their products weeks before the actual date. If you do not want to miss the best offers, it is best to keep your eyes peeled on your favourite stores as early as the beginning/middle of November.
