  • On the Nepal-India border is Mount Kanchenjunga.

  • On the same mountain range of Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse lies in the Mahalangur Himal range in the Khumbu Region.

  • Mount Makalu, the fifth highest mountain in the world, also lies in the Everest region within the same mountain range as that of Everest and Lhotse.

  • Another mountain peaks crossing eight-thousand meters of elevation lying on the Mahalangur range is the Cho Oyu Peak.

Besides the UNESCO listed sites, trekking also has many other monasteries and temples that cross the paths of trekkers. The Tengboche monastery in the Khumbu region is a spiritual hub of the Everest region. The settlement of Namche Bazaar offers many cultural and traditional sights along with views of tall mountains. The Muktinath temple in the Annapurna region is another famous trekking destination. The Tsum Valley in the Manaslu region is quite unique and the residents there follow centuries old rituals and practices which are still prevalent to this day. Hiking is an amazing way to get close to observing and taking part in the unique culture of the Nepali people.
