Hungary beats Estonia 5-1 in soccer World Cup qualifier

Hungary’s nation soccer team beat Estonia 5-1 in a European zone World Cup qualifier in Budapest on Tuesday before 10,000 fans, restoring hopes it might make it through the preliminary rounds after being trounced by Romania 3-0 last week.

Hungary dominated this game, scoring three goals in the first half-time and two in the second. The one Estonian goal came in the 48th minute, just as the second half-time was getting underway.

The Hungarian outpouring of goals began with an own-goal in the 11th minute following a pass by Balázs Dzsudzsák from the left side that bounced off one of the Estonian players and into the net. (1-0)

In the 21st minute Dzsudzsak again passed the ball in from the left side which resulted in a scramble among the Hungarian players until Tamás Hajnal managed to gain possession and send it into the net for the second goal. (2-0)

In the 41st minute Dániel Böde simply latched onto the ball in midfield, sidestepped three defenders and then let it sail into the upper left hand corner from 17 meters for the third Hungarian goal. (3-0)
