President Áder and foreign minister to represent Hungary at the 71st UN general assembly

New York, September 18 (MTI) – President János Áder and Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó are to represent Hungary at the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly to be held in New York next week.
Áder will arrive in New York on Tuesday and take part in the UN Secretary-General’s meeting the following day. Ratification of the Paris climate accord will be on the agenda, and in the afternoon Áder will make a speech at a meeting of the Presidential Water Council. He will also take part in bilateral meetings in the UN headquarters.
Áder will have talks with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, South African President Jacob Zuma, World Bank chief Jim Yong Kim, and he will also meet UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in the evening before returning back to Hungary.
Péter Szijjártó will lead the Hungarian delegation and participate in the general debate of the General Assembly.
On Monday, the foreign minister will hold several high-level meetings and address the session on migration. He will jointly chair a panel on migration together with the president of Malta. Also on Monday, Szijjártó will address the debate of an international conference on migration and refugees and attend a meeting of European Union foreign ministers.
