EP Election – Poll: Jobbik, Socialists In Tight Competition For Second Place

Change language:
(MTI) – Ruling Fidesz received support from 37 percent of all voters in early May, with radical nationalist Jobbik and the Socialists competing for second place in tight competition at 12 percent and 11 percent, respectively, pollster Ipsos said on Friday.
DK and LMP received 3 percent support each, followed by E-PM with 2 percent. Only 29 percent of voters said they had no party preference, the pollster said in a statement sent to MTI.
Among decided voters, Fidesz received 56 percent, Jobbik 17 percent and the Socialists 16 percent. In this group, the DK stood at 4 percent and LMP and E-PM at 3 percent each.
Ipsos said the poll, prepared in the aftermath of the general election in April, showed that support for Fidesz was mostly unchanged among different age groups but the level of education had a more significant influence on figures. Support for the party was around 6-7 percent higher than average among those with basic level of education and it was also around 6-7 percent lower among those holding a university degree.
