Budapest to host WCCI’s 17th World Conference in Education

Budapest, July 10 (MTI) – Over 200 education experts will gather in Budapest on Monday where the World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) will hold its 17th biennial World Conference on Education.

The Hungarian organisers of the five-day conference are the National Public Services University (NKE – Nemzeti Közszolgálati Egyetem) and the University of Pécs.

The aim of the conference is to advance dialogue in the education sector, NKE said in a statement.

The theme for this year’s event is “Educating for Democratic Governance and Global Citizenship”, according to the WCCI’s website.

Hungary last hosted the conference in 2010 when it was held in Pécs.

The WCCI is a nonprofit global organization founded in 1970 with the aim of advancing global cooperation among educators to ensure that education contributes to peace, equality and universal respect for and observance of human rights.
